Anabophobia is the fear of medicines with an anabolic effect. Systems aiming to keep its current organisation and to prevent changes may favor repression and sedation (catabolism) over medical methods associated with building up and strengthening (anabolism) by distancing from the precept to cure the individual, so that organisations and self-help groups that oppose repressive psychiatry systems ("antipsychiatry") also tend to oppose anabophobia. For example the naturally in human blood circulation appearing hormone nandrolone has mainly a protein anabolic effect and the readiness of a health system to involve also treatment with nandrolone in cases of not trivially treatable severe chronic fatigue, tiredness, cachexia, bradyphrenia, muscle weakness is one indicator about how much it is mentally infiltrated with anabophobia.
