Argyrophobia is the fear of silvery things, especially silverware. This phobia is usually triggered back in the early childhood, like getting poked by a fork. This phobia is a branch of Gyrophobia, The fear of silver. This phobia is hard to manage since silvery things are abundant. Sufferers would simply avoid seeing or getting in vicinity of it, like near vents. Sufferers may avoid using silverware and instead eat food either using hands or with non-silvery utensils.

Since silver is a shade of gray, some sufferers of argyrophobia may also suffer glaucophobia, fear of the color gray.

This phobia can be treated by simply teaching them that harmless silvery things are not dangerous. Silverware are more fearful than many other silvery things, like decorations.

In folklore and myths it is said that fairys would die if they touch silver or any metal
