Automysophobia (from Greek auto, "self", and mysos, "dirt") is the fear of being dirty. Sufferers would make sure to keep them real clean all the time, by washing hands constantly and taking shower couple times per day. Sufferers would also spend a great deal of time to clean the entire house everyday just to avoid catching dirt onto them. People would suffer panic attacks when they are dirty. Automysophobia is usually eliminated by eradicating the fear from the victim's mind via counseling. It is the fear of being dirty. It affects everyday life because it can prevent you from going out camping or out with family or friends.
