Cacophobia (from Greek kakos, "bad") is the fear of ugliness. Everybody, including cacophobic sufferers, perceive ugliness as an unpleasant sight. Cacophobes though would believe that ugly things may hold evil entities in it. So if the sufferer gazes at them, an evil entity may believe to come out and attack, along with physical and emotional symptoms like rapid breathing, fast heartrate, sweating, feeling loss of control, and dread. It is often treated using psychotherapy and medications.
