Carpophobia is the fear of wrists and/or veins.

An individual’s Carpophobia can be triggered by looking at wrists, talking/hearing others talk about wrists, touching or thinking about their own wrists, other people touching their wrists, etc. Carpophobia symptoms can manifest through tics, severe anxiety, panic attacks, etc. Severity of an individual’s carpophobia can differ from person to person.

One common origin of carpophobia may be from wrist cutting (whether self inflicted, a friend or family member, or the thought).
