Dyphobia (from Greek dyo, meaning "two"), also known as diphobia or duophobia, is the fear of number two (a branch of numerophobia) or of in pairs. People would fear dichotomy or dualism. Sufferers may feel anxious about the pairs, such as having a pair of hands or a pair of socks. Dyophobes may dread if they get to one "strike" away from doom. Those people would avoid using a pair of the same things, like wearing different colored socks on each foot, and seeing two hands at the same time.
