Flatulophobia (from flatus, Latin for "blowing") is the fear of flatulating, whether flatulating oneself or somebody flatulating. The common fear trigger is being blamed or the unpleasant odour came from flatulating or even the sound of flatulating. If the sufferer notices the odour of the flatulence or even hears someone flatulate, they may panic and flee from the people who flatulated. Mild sufferers would stay away people who flatulate often while severe sufferers would stay away from anybody, often resulting in the feeling of depression due to lack of personal contact, but they can still contact people via phone or social network. Sufferers would try to avoid flatulating themselves.

Flatulophobia is often treated using hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and exposure therapy, as well as talking about flatulence facts.
