Halitophobia (from Latin halitus, "breath") is the fear of breath, a branch of osmophobia (fear of odors). It is triggered by the smell of horrible breath when a person that is talk to is close to them, or even a mental change especially as the brain develops. Sufferers would simply not go near the person. Halitophobes may panic when smelling the breath. It is commonly treated using exposure therapy.
