Heptaphobia (from hepta, Greek for "seven"), also known as Septaphobia (from septem, Latin for "7"), is the fear of number seven. Although it is the most common favorite number, few people can fear or get phobic of the number 7. To go along that the number is considered lucky, this fear of number can be associated with the fear of luck. Heptaphobia can also be associated with the fear of sin, since there are seven deadly sins. In China, the number is associated with abandonment, anger, and death and their 7th month is called "The Ghost Month". Heptaphobes would avoid having quantities of 7, like not having 7 people in the house nor in the swimming pool. Many sufferers would wish to have eight days per week, especially from those who hear about the film Eight Days a Week or The Beatles song of the same name. Heptaphobes may be afraid of turning 7 years old.
