Humidophobia is the fear of humidity. The fear is often trigger due to unpleasant feeling when exposed to humidity, especially when getting sick of humidity when exposed to it many times. People exposed to high humidity may give them sensation of being trapped. A few sufferers may believe that all those moisture may oversaturate and condense into an ocean of water. They would stay inside at all times while not opening windows. They would turn the AC on when it is hot inside on a warm day. Symptoms of humidophobia include nausea, sweating, trembling, dizziness, breathlessness, loss of control, and sensing lack of escape. It is often treated using exposure therapy.
