Koniophobia, or amathophobia, is the fear of dust. The presence of dust and the presence of dust mites in it are primary triggers of koniophobia. Koniophobia is also sometimes triggered from something very unrelated to dust, such as a stressful event.

Since many dust come from outdoors, sufferers would rarely go outside of home while dusting frequently. A sufferer may want to own an air filter to slow the buildup of dust. Koniophobia can be treated by telling sufferers that dust is everywhere: in the air, ground, objects, living things, and even in outer space.
