Negrophobia (from the Spanish and Portuguese word negro, meaning "black", and Greek phobos, "fear") is the fear of black people or African Americans. The phobia is commonly caused by the potentially absurd and very stereotypical personality of black person, such as violence. Political teachings also cause sufferers to discriminate against African Americans. White sufferers would keep away from black people by not going to public places.
