Stasiphobia is the fear of standing or walking. Unlike most of phobias, which go back to incidents in the childhood, stasiphobia is commonly suffered by elderly people caused by diseases like Parkinson's disease. Stasiphobia is typically caused by the fear of falling. Another, more far-fetched trigger of stasiphobia is agoraphobia (fear of going outside).

Many stasiphobia sufferers use wheelchairs, even though they're able to walk. Stasiphobia can be treated by telling doctor or psychologist the story that trigger fear.
