Turbophobia (from the Greek word turbo, meaning "snail", and phobos, "fear") is the fear of the the snail from the movie "Turbo" and snail like mediums. People suffering this phobia would avoid watching "Turbo" and sometimes snails in general. People fear Turbo often because of his speed and mighty power. Turbophobes would have a difficult time getting near snails and may result in cold sweat upon sight of them. Some turbophobes even fear the words Turbo, snails, and similarly-sounded words and phrases.
Turbophobia is an uncommon phobia, but Melissa North from Kent University in Ohio and Dan Medani of Oakland California are both notable turbophobes.
