Zoophobia (from the Greek word zoo, meaning "animal", and phobos, "fear") is the fear of animals. Animals are fearful as some may attack them, injuring them or even killing them. Moderate sufferers of zoophobia may only fear animals that are unfriendly to humans such as wolves and sharks as well as scary ones like bats and spiders, while severe sufferers would fear all animals, even benign ones like cats and birds. Sufferers would stay inside at all times while never stepping outside unless if the one is in the vehicle with roof over them.

Zoophobia is commonly treated using exposure therapy that involves the one exposing them to animals in the presence of therapists, starting with small and benign and working the way up in size and range of roam.
